Comedian Jack Whitehall’s quick wit and sharp tongue scored him an invited back to host the BRIT Awards for the second year running.
And the funnyman went big, ripping it out of anyone and everyone, from a furious-looking Shawn Mendes to a never-did-anything-to-hurt-anyone Ed Sheeran .
Needless to say, some took it better than others, and here’s a roundup of his best zingers of 2019…
Despite declaring himself a Mixer, Jack got a frosty response when he brought up Jesy Nelson’s infamously terrible attempt at a Jamaican accent – followed by her kebab shop snog with Love Island’s Chris Hughes .
“Jesy you’re looking nervous,” he told her before joking about bumping into her in the kebab shop later.
Referencing the royal’s recent car crash, he teased, “Girlbands usually crash and burn faster than Prince Philip on a countryside drive.”
He introduced the former One Direction star as Naomi Campbell’s other half, before quipping that he’ll want to stay on the right side of his fiery lover.
“His name is Payne… which is what he’ll be in if he crosses her,” Jack joked.
After buying Shawn a WKD and mocking him for being too young to drink at the Grammys, he turned his attentions to his underwear campaign.
He asked: “Who, ladies and gentlemen, has seen Mr Mendes’s new underwear campaign?”
As Shawn blushed, Jack revealed he’d saved the pics on his phone.
“Uh, for those of you that haven’t I’ve actually got it here as my screensaver,” he continued.
The comedian then told Shawn that he shouldn’t be embarrassed that he likes to “rock out with [his] jock out,” leaving the audience in hysterics.
An onlooker told Mirror Online: “Jack’s jokes may have got a big laugh, but everyone in the auditorium could see that Shawn was clearly mortified.
“After his gags Shawn went red, and had his head in his hands.”
Determined not to let it go, he later teased, “just to warn you the O2 security are pretty hot on suspicious packages.”
Poor Ed copped some serious flack over his looks, with Jack joking that his cameo in Game Of Thrones was the ‘most disturbing scene of all’ in the brutal, bloody saga.
Drake might have been the one winning international male, but Jack still managed to bring the subject back to Shawn, teasing, “Don’t give it to Drake he never turns up, give it to Shawn Mendes, he bunked off school for this.”
The Greatest Showman opened the evening with a stunning performance – prompting Jack to brand him, “Australia’s answer to Bradley Walsh.”
Whilst crushing on her rather hot dad, he joked, “You’ve got a silver fox, mine’s more of a white walker.”
Jack said the X Factor mogul would be, “asking his surgeon to put a brave face on him,” if Little Mix won big after leaving his record label.
