Doctors are said to advise the girls to speak to their parents but they will not force young people to confide in their carers or guardians.

Coronation Street teenager Amy made the drastic decision to abort her unborn baby in Monday’s night show following a candid chat with Bethany Platt.
The underage mother-to-be dropped the bombshell after a chat with the baby’s father and gang member Tyler (Will Barnett), who insisted he wants ‘nothing to do’ with the child.
As Amy admitted she will go ahead with the termination without telling mum Tracy and dad Steve, the episode ended on a cliffhanger with Bethany asking if it was truly the right decision.
In the episode, Amy came face-to-face with Tyler after discovering that she is pregnant, having already made a plan with her parents that they will adopt the child.

Of course Amy is clueless that her mum Tracy (Kate Ford) offered Tyler £5,000 to stay away from her and the baby as he previously said he wanted to be in his child’s life.
Tracy then called the police to report Tyler for underage sex, but despite Amy giving a formal statement she insisted their relationship was consensual.
When Amy discovered her mum’s deception she furiously ran off to the station, where she was once again met by Tyler.
The gang member now insisted she should decide what to do with their child, and should she follow through with the pregnancy he wants ‘nothing to do’ with them.

This all led to Amy having a heart-to-heart with Bethany (Lucy Fallon), who herself has been through some rough times after being groomed as a teen.
Amy then dropped the ultimate bombshell – she had decided to abort her baby the following day and would not be telling her parents.
Despite Bethany questioning whether it was right to go ahead with the procedure in secret, Amy seemed adamant that she would not be going through with the pregnancy.
It now remains to be seen whether Amy will decide to go through with the abortion, though spoilers for next week – which see her refuse to attend a scan – suggest otherwise.
