Coronation Street star Beverley Callard has clarified recent reports over her future on the ITV soap.
The Liz McDonald actress has signed up for some big-name theatre projects, which prompted people to falsely claim that she’s leaving her Corrie role.
Taking to her Twitter, Callard said: “No, I’m not leaving @itvcorrie I love playing ‘Liz’.Great stories happening!
“But I’m doing some fab theatre too @rockyhorroruk Liverpool @TheThunderGirls Salford. Loving every moment!!!!!!!”
The actress appeared on Lorraine this week to talk about her lead role in Thunder Girls, and said that while she usually has to turn down other work because of her Corrie commitments, she worked out an arrangement with the show’s bosses.
Thunder Girls is set to open next year, following on from her recent role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show throughout January.
But while she loves her theatre and television work, the star admitted that if she could afford to, she’d pack it all in to pursue a completely different dream career, one she’s already taken a course in.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
