THE Chase viewers were left furious last night as they claimed a contestant ‘didn’t deserve a penny’ of the £9k prize money.
In the episode, hairdresser Deanne accepted Paul Sinha’s offer of minus £1,000, much to the dismay of those watching at home.
Deanne, 33, revealed that she wanted the chance to rejoin her teammates who had already racked up a £10k prize pot.
However, that wasn’t the only thing that upset fans of the show, as the hairdresser barely helped during the final chase either.
Deanne appeared to hit the buzzer only a few times and when she did she failed to answer any of the quickfire questions correctly.
But, after the chaser’s opportunity to beat the team failed, Deanne and her teammates Janice and Adam were awarded £9,000 to share between them.
And angry viewers wasted no time in taking to social media to vent that she didn’t deserve to take home her share of the prize money.
One fumed: “Deane didn’t deserve a penny. Nothing annoys me more than people who go low #TheChase”
Another said: “Omg Deanne u actual ok? Takes a minus offer then answers no questions??? Go home Deanne #thechase”
A third said: “….someone call the police, Deanne just mugged Adam & Janice on #TheChase”
A fourth questioned: “Why are they even hugging Deanne!? She took a minus and answered no question. She doesn’t deserve a penny #TheChase”
This isn’t the first time that fans have been left furious by a contestant in recent months either, after a contestant called Ebby played a similar game.
Viewers were raging when Ebby subsequently pretended to fly like a plane around the studio after making it home.
Ebby said he had only come on the show to get further than his son Nathan who had competed on it before and was overwhelmed with his feat.
But fans weren’t impressed with his sentimental reasons and said it was a “low blow” to take from the team and then celebrate his success.
Hundreds of people flooded Twitter with expletive filled rants, while one person raged: “I’ve never felt such negative feelings towards a person than I do for the man who just celebrated -£1000!”
Another said: “Well Ebby is an absolute d**k!!!”
