Love Island has had an emotional and rocky few days with Amy Hart leaving the villa, Maura Higgins cracking on with Curtis Pritchard, Amber Gill unable to move past Michael Griffiths and new islanders Chris Taylor and Francesca Allen entering to stir up more drama.
On Thursday’s episode, we saw the fallout of the sexy dance challenge which saw the boys and girls attempt to get each other’s hearts racing and the results ruffled a few feathers as there’s clearly unfinished business between a few islanders.
Michael ended up talking to Jordan Hames about his unresolved feelings for Amber and his new romance with Joanna Chimonides while Maura was the cat who got the cream over being the girl to raise Curtis’ heartbeat the most.
But new girl Francesca isn’t letting that stop her from getting to know the professional dancer and as Ovie gets a text (‘message!’) about the recoupling ceremony taking place that night, tensions are high.
Let’s take a look at what happened last night.
Amber’s heart was broken when she walked back in to the villa after a stint in Casa Amor only to find out Michael had recoupled with Joanna but it seems that he can’t stop thinking about Amber.
After it was revealed his heart rate was raised the most by Amber and not Joanna during a sexy lap dance challenge, he began reconsidering his decision.
‘What I see, I am not sure I see you and Joanna have the same chemistry you and Amber did,’ admitted pal Jordan in a quiet chat with Michael later in the evening, adding: ‘If you did change your mind there is nothing wrong with that, look at Anna, it can work.’
Michael, however, may be about to try and have his cake and eat it to as he told Jordan: ‘It’s not a bad position to be in, Joanna is unbelievable and Amber is stunning.’
Meanwhile, Amber was crowing to Maura over the results revealing that it made her feel good to know she could still affect her ex and she soon called Michael for a chat to confirm that her laughter during the results was simply a case of her being awkward and not trying to create drama.
Her behaviour had been one reason that Michael used against her when recoupling with Joanna, but has she turned a new leaf and will Michael see it?
The hideaway hasn’t had much action this year but Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague were given the chance to revisit their first meeting as the doors opened.
The pair met there when Molly-Mae picked Tommy for a date on her first day in the villa, and now they’re happily coupled up and official boyfriend and girlfriend, the pair revel in their privacy.
The next morning Maura demanded details from Molly-Mae: ‘Is his d**k really nice?’
But an affronted Molly-Mae retorted: ‘I wouldn’t know because I didn’t see it.’
Maura and Curtis have been getting close but the ballroom dancer is clearly keeping his options open.
During a chat with Maura, he admitted he does want to get to know Francesca and he enjoyed their date the previous day which doesn’t leave Maura particularly happy.
The next day he called Francesca for a chat, in view of Maura, and the Irish lass was left seething, mocking Francesca and her love of a hair flick.
‘It’s such bullshit, absolute bullshit,’ fumed Maura, ‘if I couple up with him and he still gets to know her, I will pack my bags.’
Francesca and Curtis discussed the challenge the night before and he admitted he enjoyed her ‘cute and innocent’ kiss although he wouldn’t compare her to Maura, who went in for a full on snog, but did admit it shocked him.
Curtis has been transparent with both girls though, and told Francesca he is going to get to know Maura as well.
New boy Chris brought Amber a cup of tea as she gets ready for the day, shocking the 21-year-old.
She admitted she’d like to get to know him but only on a friend-level, and he later asked her for a chat, admitting he didn’t ask her for a date as he wanted to find out where her head was at after the Michael situation.
Amber wasn’t feeling a connection though, sadly for Chris.
It was all about the lads for Thursday’s challenge, with them taking part in penalty shoot outs while wearing goggles that limited their visibility, wolfing down vindaloos and having to perform as many squats as possible while the girls straddle them.
It was all worth it though, to see the boys completely fail at kicking the football – and Anton Danyluk performing this epic tumble.

It was time to gather round the firepit and soon Francesca got a text (‘message!’) telling her it was her pick first.
Earlier she had got to know Marvin Brooks as well, and was torn on who to pick. But she went with her gut – and unafraid of Maura’s wrath she picked Curtis who later told her he was trying very hard to keep the smile off his face.
Is Maura’s shot over?
Joanna then picked Michael, Anna picked Jordan and Molly-Mae recoupled with boyfriend Tommy.
Belle Hassan chose Anton while Amber decided to recouple with her ‘big brother’ Ovie Soko.
Maura then had the last pick, and she had to pick between Chris and Marvin, who she had coupled up with in Casa Amor.
She ultimately chose Chris, sending Marvin home on the first flight to the UK.
