It’s a shame there’s no Oscar for best red carpet moment of the night – because Billy Porter would be a shoe-in.
Just an hour into the red carpet, the Pose actor left us speechless by showing up to the 91st Academy Awards in a Christian Siriano tuxedo dress like no other.
The 49-year-old absolutely slayed in a velvet tuxedo jacket, which extended into a voluminous skirt that dominated the red carpet.
The Pose star mixed femininity and masculinity by wearing a white shirt with ruffled cuffs beneath the dress, finishing the look with a bow tie.
And people were left gagging over the fashion statement.
One person tweeted: ‘Billy Porter just set the bar impossibly high for #Oscars fashion, while another called the look ‘a serve’.
Another tweet read: ‘Billy Porter’s look for the #Oscars2019 just gets more iconic the more you look at it. Stab me in the eyes because honestly I never need to see a single red carpet look again after this. Complete and total perfection.
And one person accurately stated: ‘I think Billy Porter just won the Oscars and it doesn’t start for hours idk.’
Billy – who stars as Pray Tell in Pose – was accompanied to the Oscars by his husband Adam Smith, who looked dashing in a three piece suit with an unusual white bow tie.
The Tony Award winner, who starred in American Horror Story: Apocalypse, has been serving incredible looks all awards season, particularly at the Golden Globes, where he wore an embroidered suit beneath a stunning grey cape with hot pink silk lining.
