Taylor Swift has announced that her forthcoming seventh album is called Lover but it is the antics of Lindsay Lohan that has overshadowed it.
Taylor broke the news about her new musical offering in a post to her 118 million Instagram followers, in which she confirmed the record’s release date as August 23.
Her fans, known as Swifties, were soon caught up in taking pot shots at Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan, who bizarrely decided to gatecrash the announcement with some thoughts of her own.
As Taylor shared her news in a live blog video on Instagram, Lindsay started to interject with unrelated comments, that led to Taylor’s fans to urge her “You Need To Calm Down” in an echo of the new single from Swift.
First Lindsay started urging Taylor that “You should respond!” in the comments, before posting randomly “My mom was in cats”.
Lindsay then started getting irate at a lack of response from Taylor which in turn wound up the Swifties, including The Hills star Spencer Pratt.
He tweeted: “Someone please tell Lohan settle down on Tays live like dang gurl.”
Another wrote: ” Why is Lindsay Lohan being HELLLLLA creepy on @taylorswift13’s live stream? She’s announcing her new song “You Need To Calm Down” which Lindsay DEF needs to listen to….. ‘my mom was in cats’ …..HUH?”
There is no motive for Lindsay’s interjections but Taylor will be starring in the movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s musical, CATS.
Lindsay has been sharing posts on social media that indicate that she is “hard at work” producing new music.
She has also included the hashtag ‘#ME’ on the posts, which just so happens to be Taylor’s first single from Lover.
