TRNSMT 2019: Stormzy visits fans in ambulance after injury meant they missed set in Glasgow – The Scottish Sun

STORMZY delighted a pair of fans after his TRNSMT gig last night – by visiting them in an AMBULANCE.

The grime superstar wowed the crowds in Glasgow Green on the opening day of this year’s music fest.

But James Weir didn’t catch the show, after he fell and injured his leg during the day.

The 21-year-old, from Edinburgh, was carted off to the medical tent with pal KJ and was “gutted” about missing the Stormzy set.

But the pair couldn’t believe their luck when the chart-topper spotted them backstage and came to say hello.

James said: “It was unbelievable, I really couldn’t believe Stormzy was there talking to us.

“I had been down near the front and there was a load of folk doing mosh pits.

“There was a big one before Stormzy’s set and I fell over.

“A couple of others fell on top of me and hurt my leg, I couldn’t put weight on it.

“Two random guys helped me to the medical tent and I was moved to an ambulance.

“Me and my mate were in there and we saw Stormzy going by after his set.

“We screamed at him hoping for something like a wave.

“But instead he came in, it was surreal.

“He sat and chatted to us, asked what happened, said he hoped I was okay and took some pics.

“He’s a really nice guy and he didn’t need to do what he did.

“He even said about getting us sorted with some tickets in the future.

Medics said that James strained muscles in his leg and is now recovering at home.

Meanwhile, KJ’s sister shared the snap of the three in the ambulance on Twitter this morning.

And the teenager was delighted when he saw that Stormzy had shared it.

He said: “I woke up this morning and couldn’t really believe what had happened.

“I almost fell out my bed when I saw he’d shared it.

“I just sat there for two minutes staring at it.

“Now my phone has just blown up with messages and things.

“It’s really cool.”

We told you last night how Stormzy put on a show in Glasgow as he kicked-off TRNSMT with a bang – and a siren.

The 25-year-old grime artist almost missed the show altogether when his flight was delayed.

But a police escort raced him to Scotland’s biggest music festival just in time for his headline slot.

And it didn’t take a detective to see how happy he was to have made it there in one piece.
